GETTING TO VENICE

BY PLANE ARRIVAL AT “MARCO POLO” AIRPORT IN VENICE (VCE)

BUS PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
Piazzale Roma is the only place in Venice that can be reached by car or buses.
To reach Piazzale Roma from the “Marco Polo” Airport we suggest to take ACTV bus n.5 or ATVO Aerobus Venezia Express. The cost of the ticket is € 8 one-way or € 15 roundtrip. Bus takes approx. 30 minutes from the airport to the bus stop in “Piazzale Roma”.

Where can you purchase tickets at the Airport?

  • at the public transport ticket office in the Arrivals hall (see map)
  • at the ticket machines in the baggage reclaim area near carousels 3 or 5 or at the bus stops
  • on board of ATVO line buses (with an extra charge).

You can arrange a private water taxi for transfers to/from “Marco Polo” Airport. By water taxi you directly get to the hotel and it takes about 30 minutes to reach Venice. A water bus transport service is available from the airport docks, connecting to Venice and the main Venetian islands (Murano, Burano, Lido).
The water bus transport service is provided by Alilaguna.

Alilaguna water-bus prices: one way 15€, roundtrip 27€.

The water bus stops in Venice at San Marco, Rialto, Fondamenta Nuove and Guglie.   Journey time: F. Nove (40 minutes), Lido (60 minutes), San Marco (1 hour and 15 minutes), Rialto (60 minutes), Guglie (40 minutes).

Where can you buy tickets for an Alilaguna water bus?

  • Ticket Office Public Transport (arrival), desk 8 or Docks (Darsena) Desk D;
  • at the ticket machines at baggage claim near carousels 3 or 5
  • on board the Alilaguna water bus.

 

Where can you take an Alilaguna water bus?

  • at the Airport: follow the light blue wayfinding for “Water Transport” and reach the 1st floor of the Terminal. Here you find the Moving Walkway, an elevated pedestrian path with moving carpets, that with lead you to the dock;
  • in Venice: at the Alilaguna water bus stop of San Marco, Rialto, Fondamenta Nuove, and Guglie.

BY PLANE ARRIVAL AT “ANTONIO CANOVA” AIRPORT IN TREVISO (TSF)

Piazzale Roma is the only place in Venice that can be reached by car or buses.
To reach Piazzale Roma from Canova Airport we suggest to take ATVO Line 351. The cost of the ticket is € 12 one-way or € 22 roundtrip. Bus takes approx. 70 minutes from the airport to the bus stop in “Piazzale Roma”.

Where can you catch an ATVO bus?
From the airport: in Via Noalese, to the right of the airport exit.

Where can you buy an ATVO ticket?
• at the ticket office in the Arrivals hall on the ground floor of Treviso Airport terminal building
• directly on board on the bus.

BY PLANE ARRIVAL AT “ANTONIO CANOVA” AIRPORT IN TREVISO (TSF)

You can directly reach Padua by MOM Line 101 bus.

Connections from the airport to Treviso railway station by Shuttle bus Treviso Airlink. Average travel time: 15 minutes.

BY PLANE ARRIVAL AT “VALERIO CATULLO” AIRPORT IN VERONA (VRN)

Verona Airlink Stazione Porta Nuova – Aeroporto Catullo (Line 199) connects the main station of Verona with Verona Airport. The bus is scheduled every 20 minutes. Time table Verona Airlink Bus 199.

GETTING AROUND VENICE

There are City Centre lines, that cross Venice mostly using the waterways of Canal Grande and the Giudecca Canal. They leave from Tronchetto or from Piazzale Roma and go as far as the Lido di Venezia (lines 1 and 2). There are also connections around the external city lagoon perimeter. City Circle lines going as far as Murano and the Lido di Venezia (lines- 3, 4.1, 4.2, 5.1, 5.2, 6).

Water bus tickets

You can purchase tourist tickets (1, 2, 3, and 7 days), on the Venezia Unica website, or once you have arrived in Venice. The all-inclusive tickets include all the navigation lines.

How to get there

 

Accessible route 1 – Valeria Solesin bridge

After having entered the station, go to Platform 1.

Go down the platform following the signs “San Giobbe Exit – University” and, when the signs indicate, turn right.

Straight away turn down the only street on the left and go all the way down until you reach the Valeria Solesin Bridge.

After crossing the bridge, follow the ramp and turn left.

You will find yourself in front of the back entrance to Polo di San Giobbe.

On your right you will see the entrance to the garden and the library area.

 

Accessible route 2 – Fondamenta San Giobbe

Take Line 4.2 (one wheelchair on board at a time at the discretion of the captain) from the Ferrovia or Piazzale Roma stops then get off at Crea.

Turn right then go along Fondamenta San Giobbe.

Cross the bridge (non-accessible) then continue along the fondamenta.

The entrance to the San Giobbe campus is on your left, at the end of the fondamenta.
